| Michelle joined the Penn Libraries in January 2009 as Judaic Public Services Librarian and Archivist. Based at the Library of the Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies, she provides reference services in the field of Judaic Studies to all Penn students, faculty, and affiliates. In addition, she processes archival collections at the CAJS, performs catalog maintenance for Judaic Studies materials, and serves as the Penn Libraries' liaison to the CAJS Fellows. Michelle has previously worked in the Special Collections Library of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, at New York University, and for the Kestenbaum and Company auction house. Michelle holds a B.A. in History from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, an M.S. in Library and Information Science from Long Island University's Palmer School, and an M.A. in Judaic Studies from New York University. She has also completed coursework at the University of Virginia's Rare Book School. Michelle is fluent in Hebrew and maintains a particular interest in incunabula, books printed from the invention of the printing press until the year 1500, especially those printed in Hebrew. |
