Podcasts are web-based audio broadcasts. These files are made available in a way that allows your computer (with the help of a program like iTunes or an RSS reader) to notify you when a new episode is posted.

Even if you don't own an iPod, you can use iTunes to find free, quality medical podcasts by downloading iTunes). To find podcasts:
  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Click on "iTunes store."
  3. Click on "podcasts."
  4. Use the search box to look for terms like "nursing" or "pediatrics" or "JAMA."
  5. Click the "subscribe" button next to the name of the free podcasts, and they will begin to download.
  6. Plug in your headphones and listen on your computer or plug in and update your iPod.
