Bridges Weekly Trade News Digest. Published by the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development.

Commercial News USA. Print and website advertising for U.S. exporters.

Export.gov Trade Portal

Export-Import Bank of the United States. U.S. Official Export Credit Agency.

Federation of International Trade Associations. Links to international trade Web resources annotated and indexed; trade leads; world trade news, etc.

Global Edge. International business Web portal. Categories include country information, trade law, portals, leads, trade shows, etc.

Global Trade Negotiations. Center for International Development. Harvard University. Includes links to NGOs.

Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC). US Government Agency to facilitate US companies entering emerging markets. Provides financing (from large structured finance to small business loans), political risk insurance, and investment funds.

U.S. International Trade Administration.Comprehensive site links to U.S. government export portal, export.gov; Trade Information Center includes industry information; U.S. & Foreign Commerical Service; Import Administration; etc.

Office of the United States Trade Representative. Includes annual National Trade Estimate Report on Foreign Trade Barriers, trade agreements, and country information.

World Port Source. Directory of ports from 195 countries.

DIRECTORIES

Orbis. ORBIS is BvD's global information product that enables you to search across 10 million companies. The Library subscribes to a number of other BVD Directories which have a geographic focus. Some examples are listed below.

  • AMADEUS. Detailed information on over 15 million public and private companies in 43 European countries.
  • FAME covers the UK and Ireland.
  • ICARUS. Profiles on approximately 14 million companies (of which 1.65 million are branch locations) in the US and 1.4 million companies (of which 160,000 are branch locations) in Canada.
  • JADE. The largest 370,000 Japanese companies.
  • QIN. Detailed reports on Chinese companies.

Commercial News USA. Helps American companies find buyers and distributors for their products and services.

Europages -- The European Business Directory. Business-to-Business directory of 550,000 European companies in over 35 countries.

The FITA Directory of Export Management Companies. Trade intermediaries that represent U.S. manufacturers.

Hoover's Online International Company Directory. Profiles for approximately 40,000 U.S. and international companies.

American Association of Exporters and Importers. Represents the American trade community on international trade issues. The AAEI's Essential Trade Professional Library includes a useful list of resources such as the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and other important resources. The AAEI sells these publications, but many are free from government websites. Use the list as a reference.

ISO - International Organization for Standardization. Network of the national standards institutes of 163 countries, one member per country, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinates the system. It is the world's largest developer and publisher of International Standards.

MAC. Market Access and Compliance. U.S. ITA site - promotes foreign market access and trade compliance for U.S. firms, featuring regional pages.
