Installing the Sage RSS Feed Reader for Mozilla Firefox

These are the basic instructions. If you prefer, there is also a more in-depth walk-through of the process.

To install Sage, you will need to have the Mozilla Firefox browser already installed on your machine.


  1. Open Firefox now

    Firefox browser window opens

  2. Go to http://sage.mozdev.org/

    Webpage opens with info about Sage

  3. Click on "Install Sage"

  4. Click on "click here to install"

    When installing an extension from a site for the first time, you may see a message at the top of the html window that says something like "to protect your computer, Firefox prevented this site from installing software on your computer. Edit Options"

    This is to protect you from malicious extensions (which Sage is not). To install press 'Edit Options...' then 'Allow' and 'OK'. Then click on "click here to install" again.

  5. Click on "Install Now"

    Extensions Manager reappears

  6. Close Extensions Manager and close all Firefox windows

  7. Re-open Firefox

  8. Tools --> Sage

    9. Sage opens in sidebar
