
When you launch your client, this screen will open. Before you begin to structure your
Beilstein search, you need to check two things. First, the button having the crossed red arrows (at left) must be depressed to connect you to the CrossFire databases.
Second, you must select the correct database. CrossFire allows you to search both the
Beilstein databases of organics and the Gmelin database of inorganics. Beneath the button
with the red arrows, you will see a section of the window labeled "Switch Database." Make
sure that the radial button next to the selection
BS102PR
is highlighted. If it is not, you will end up searching the Gmelin database instead of
Beilstein! This selection is boxed in red on the screen shot below.
