Zotero
Zotero is a free, easy-to-use Firefox extension to help you collect, manage, and cite your research sources.
As you search for books and articles, an icon will appear on the right side of your browser's location box whenever a resource is eligible for addition to Zotero. For example, here's the icon that appears when searching for the book Subway Art in Franklin:
By clicking on the icon, the resource will be added to your Zotero database:
To get up and running, see Zotero's quick start guide. Zotero also offers plugins that help integrate it with several popular word processing programs.
