DreamWeaver Tutorial - Biomedical Library

Introduction

Dreamweaver MX is an extremely powerful tool used to help you create a web site. It is available for around $100.00 at the Computer Connection and is the Universities' recommended Web Editing software. However, support might be difficult to find in your department. Hopefully, this tutorial will help you with some of the basic features of Dreamweaver.

Dreamweaver is a WYSIWYG system, meaning what you see is what you get. It tries to show you as you work, how your web page will appear in a browser. It basically helps you write the HTML (hypertext markup language) code.

While Dreamweaver will write the basic code, its it is important for you to have a basic understanding of the code. Sometimes it can be difficult to edit the look of a page with Dreamweaver, and if you are not familiar with html code, you're lost. If, however, you know some basic code, you can edit it directly, bypassing dreamweavers quirks.

Use the navigation menu on the left to browse through the different sections of the tutorial.
