Endnote Troubleshooting
Note:
Most of Endnote problems have to do with having the latest Endnote filter for the particular database that you're trying to import citations from. Therefore, before you start panicking, make sure you have downloaded the latest filter from the Endnote website at http://www.endnote.com/support/enfilters.asp
Frequently encountered problems
I can't seem to Direct Export correctly from OVID MEDLINE - added 9/29/04
OVID Technologies has recently changed the 4 letter codes that represent the OVID Medline databases. These new codes are not recognized by the current EndNote filters. A new filter has been created but is not currently available at EndNotes website.
You can download the new Medline (OVID) filter here! You will need to drop this new filter into the EndNote "Filters" folder. Before adding it, you will need to first delete the old Medline (OVID) filter or better yet move it to some temp folder for safe keeping until you know the new filter works correctly.
I have Endnote 6 and cannot get it to work with Microsoft Word - added 10/07/04
Endnote 6 is known to have some problems with Word. These problems have been resolved in newer versions, however there is a procedure you can follow to make things right in Endnote 6 as well. You will find detailed instructions on what you need to do on the Endnote website at http://www.endnote.com/support/faqs/enfaq5.asp.
